Practical Support That Protects Developers, Builders, and Capital
Olive Homes is an independent development and construction advisory operating within New Zealand’s residential market. We are engaged at the points where decisions carry real financial consequence - to protect outcomes across feasibility, procurement, and delivery.
Our role is to bring experienced judgement into complex projects so they perform under real delivery conditions, not just on paper.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to apply independent, delivery-tested judgement at the moments that matter most - helping developers, builders, and capital partners make decisions that hold up under real construction pressure, not just on paper.
About Dan Oliver
Olive Homes is led by Dan Oliver, who brings over 20 years of experience across residential development and construction delivery in both the UK and New Zealand. He holds an MBA, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management, and a degree in Information Technology, and previously served as National Operations Manager for the Head Office of G.J. Gardner Homes New Zealand, the country’s largest residential home builder.
Beginning his career in the construction industry in 2005, Dan worked in the UK until 2012 before relocating to New Zealand, where he has operated across the full breadth of the building and development sector. His experience spans building materials supply, franchise operations, sales and commercial management, construction delivery and contract administration, as well as acting directly as a residential property developer. This breadth of experience provides a genuinely end-to-end understanding of the construction industry - from product and procurement through to delivery risk, programme control, and capital outcomes.
Dan has led and supported multiple large-scale development and construction engagements, including a long-term partnership with Hero International, contributing to the delivery of approximately NZD $170 million in contract construction projects through commercial leadership, tendering, and project control. Alongside this, he has originated and delivered his own residential developments and serves as a Board Advisor to Property Development Solutions.
